A Bamboo grid expressing bamboo forest at the exterior wall, and stone floor and lanterns as interior to create Kyoto's town view.
The guest rooms were increased from 482 to 489, with a special emphasis on the 9th premium floor Chikurin no Kazaoto that has 3 types of rooms, double, twin and suite. All the rooms are decorated with bamboo motif to create relaxing yet luxurious space.
There is also a Japanese-western style with a tatami floored space, a room with a great railway vire, and many more.
Local manufactures are used for amenities, such as wooded box by Khochosai Kosuga, an old bamboo craft maker, to put in Uji green tea by one of the most prominent green tea planters in Kyoto.
Fresh, organic local ingredients are used at French Kaiseki-style (traditional Japanese cuisine in small dishes) Gourmand Tachibana. Chef Shogo Imano not only cooks food representing the local community (the restaurant is certified for serving Kyoto's seasonal products), but also actually goes to Higuchi Farm at Kyoto Takagamine area to pick fresh vegetables himsel.
