The owner, Mr. Yamazoe had been working at a sweets company. Wanting to open a cafe where people can enjoy reading books, he had opened this place 6 years ago.
He has a special passion on coffee beans and always have the best of seasonal coffee with handmade cakes.
They used to purchase cakes from outside when they first opened the cafe, but wanting to serve coffee with a better match of deserts, they have gradually been creating original recipes. Now there is 4-5 types of cakes everyday; chocolate cake, baked cheese cake, banana cakes, etc.
Homemade cake set with coffee or tea (850 yen, +80 yen for iced drink), caffè latte (930 yen) , royal milk tea (980 yen, +30 for iced drink), etc., (all tax included). Above photo is apple tart.
Both coffee and caffè latte is made from the owner's selection of the best seasonal beans. No blend of the beans to emphasize on that bean's flavor. The beans are generally deep roasted and they change every 1-2 months.
Variety of seats; chair, sofa, bar counter.
You can also enjoy a great view of the Ujigawa River from their huge window. The grand flow of the river, quiet housing and mountain scenery will surely comfort you with the drink.
There is a book shelf on the opposite side from the window. It is stuffed with books and magazines from all sorts of genre. It'll be a great moment to refresh your mind.
It's at the 2nd floor of the building across from Eirakuya Hosotsuji-Ihee shoten Ujibyodoin branch store, just a few minutes walk from the Uji Station.
