Please be careful, if you are indecisive. Soba (buckwheat noodles)? Donburi (rice bowl dishes)? Or a set meal? All right, I am going to order a large size of Nihachi-soba (20% wheat flour and 80% buckwheat flour) on top of the menu. Ummm... I can add a small donburi, too. Again, I have to decide which donburi I am going to. Oyakodon (bowl of rice with chicken and eggs)? Tempradon? Simply just a Kitsunedon (bowl of rice with deep-fried tofu and eggs)? Or Tekkadon (vinegared rice topped with slices of raw tuna)? After I've been through all these choices, I look up the seasonable and daily special menus everywhere on the wall. A flood of all these choices makes my empty stomach hungrier than ever. If I eat this, I can't eat that. Ahhh, in order to live, we all have to choose. 17-IMG_9353 Seasonable choices and small dishes everywhere on the wall still make myself feel that I am more indecisive - Note : There is a case that some of the menus change the price.   Anyway, I exaggeratedly try to understand the great truth of life by thinking about food, and I just look around the restaurant while I wait for soba noodles. I have been to Udon restaurant and Soba restaurant so many times, but this place, Watatsune, perfectly suits the name of 'Bistro'. 21-IMG_9348 Finally, large size of soba noodles comes to me and it is unexpectedly and nicely elastic and chewy. Soba sauce is also great. Sobayu (hot soba water) is also served as it is supposed to be. I enjoy the whole soba meal until the very last sip. 10-IMG_4661 Ishiusu-biki Teuchi Nihachi-soba Seiro (large size) ¥950 Note : Ishiusu-biki (soba noodles made by grinding buckwheat on a millstone), Teuchi (handmade), Seiro (Japanese wicker tray)   The dishes are not eccentric nor even exquisite, but if you want to visit some places casually and frequently, this must be the one. All the choices in everyday life, you might want to take a rest to choose something. I feel this bistro will provide you something standard dish that you don't have to think deeply about what to eat. Probably, I would like to try a small Tempradon with Soba noodles next time. 09-IMG_4657 【Shop Information】 ADDRESS : 94 Yanagino-banba Dori Sanjo agaru Aburaya-cho, Nakagyo-ku, Kyoto-city (MAP) PHONE : +81(0)75-221-5957 HOURS : 11:00 a.m. ~ 8:00 p.m. CLOSED : Sunday & National Holiday
