Kawai Kanjiro's House

Kawai Kanjiro was a potter who actively created his works based in Kyoto in the Taisho and Showa period (1912-26, 1926-89). Kawai Kanjiro's House is a memorial museum opening his house and workplace to the public.

Not only the building but the furniture and equipment are of Kanjiro's design and collections. Each has a distinct characteristic, yet creating a harmony together.

Please visit us to feel the tranquility of his days despite being in the center of Kyoto.
