The outstanding croquette which will change the relationship with people.
As you see that there is the third wave generation in the coffee market, as a matter of fact, there is a new wave coming up for a 'croquette' in Kyoto as well. Probably people who knows the trend in Kyoto already hear about this name called Nishitomiya Croquette Store. The location is little bid down toward south on Kawaramachi-matsubara.
'A stylish croquette store' is the expression people mostly talk about, however, they are not only particular about the ratio of ground meat, potatoes they use, oil, ingredients and the way they cook, but also they have so many kinds that you have never seen such as blue cheese, smoke salmon, and Galician style octopus. They maximally use the potential ability of corquette and show their sincerity over the word of 'stylish'.
There are a variety of ways to enjoy their croquettes as a takeout, lunch, or you are able to have some dishes with drinks on Friday and Saturday inside the store. Whenever I pass by the store at the time for eat-in, it seems it's really crowded. It changes completely our relationship with a 'croquette' in our life and our 'theory of croquette' as well.
I was going to have a croquette lunch and arrived there at an opening time 11:30 a.m., however, it said, "takeout only"...
Sadly, I thought that they served only takeout on that day, so I ordered them and said, "To go please," but right after, while they were cooking my croquettes, I realized that eat-in lunch time is from 12:00 p.m.
I couldn't ask them for eat-in somehow, so I made a plan B to have a lunch at the Kamogawa-river side which was a good location anyway.
I ordered standard and blue cheese croquette. Eating delicious ones and watching Kamogawa-river was blissful moment. I remember their lunch time already, so I will definitely try eat-in next time.
P.S. Please check their Facebook page for their updates about new taste of croquette and their news!
